I'm Baaaaack !!

Hey boys and girls,
I'm finally back, my laptop got messed up and it messed up a lot of my daily activities; as well as my poker target. We will start that again from next week I guess. For now, the following news.

First of all, kudos to Sony Customer Service for replacing my motherboard, cleaning the laptop inside out and presenting me with a beautiful, fully functional widescreen again. All for free !!! It feels good to be working on a laptop that actually shows the text being typed, while you type it, instead of having a delay of 30 seconds !!!

Secondly, UAMS has started, great fun! Great group! and great tropical fruits ;) hehe You people have dirty minds :p First 2 assignments have been given. 1st deadline is next week monday for a self assessment (5 octobre) and the second deadline is 15th october for another timeconsuming task. Let's hope it stays like this for a while, or I'll have no time for myself anymore. No poker ?! Naaah, that would be crazy!

Thirdly, I start working this saturday for a month. Every saturday in october and the first in november to grab me some cash. Should be fun, I hope.

Finally, this blog might be shut down for certain reasons:
1: I'm not productive enough, and as mentioned previously it goes down.
2: I just feel like starting a new one
3: All of the above ...

Blog ya later !

Choices

Today, 15th September 09, I had my first day at the UAMS, Product Innovation & Entrepreneurship. First of all, great group ! I think it's going to be an interesting year. Obviously, anywhere you start a new chapter or whatever, you are confronted with choices or reflections on the choices you made. Are you sure you chose the correct master? Are you sure this master really fits your needs etc.? Personally, after having heard the information from the program coordinator, thought, SH*T, this is going to be a tough year. But if you think about it... improvement only occurs if you push your limits and not in any other way. So maybe I will have some problems througout the year, maybe I will have some tough times, but it will get me accustomed to such situations and help me grow throughout my career, I guess. You can call me an optimist, I see myself as a realist. All I can say now is, it going to be something entirely different and therefore, I'm going to bed and deal with the issues tomorrow morning !!

Cya peepz!!

First day of School...

Having graduated cum laude as a master in Strategy & Organisation, tomorrow I start a new chapter. UAMS! (University Antwerp Management School) studying Product Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Today, I checked out the school to sign some papers and stuff and guess what I noticed. Yes, you know what I saw. Let's call it, tropical fruit. A lot of tropical fruit. Y'all know what that means: Time to SUIT UP!! Yup, bring the A-game. Anyways, that's for tomorrow. Looking forward to it... But not putting up to high expectations, merely visualising it.

Blog ya tomorrow!

Kimi on podium !!!!

I bet no one had expected Kimi on the podium after the last pitstop, but Hamilton... Dude, what were you thinking ?! Everyone's saying, he's a real fighter, keeps pushing t'ill the last lap, but dude, the final lap you crashed mate. People are forgetting, he's a world champion. He's losing that title this year, but has he not matured over the last years ? It's the last lap, you're sure of a podium finish, scoring points for the team and all of a sudden you think, push it. You crashed bro! Lost concentration and crashed. He looked dissapointed and he should be ! He knew he could never overtake Button anymore and he was well ahead Kimi, he should have just taken it calmly and he would've scored some points. Oh well, that's racing I guess. I can understand his thinking though, never give up. Good mentality but yeah... you can't win them all. Anyways Kimi moved up to the podium and we got to see him dodge every question being asked in the press conference. Has anyone noticed that he keeps playing with the mic while his talking, it's hilarious !

Anyways, 1 2 for Brawn, they'll be happy to end their bad streak. Unlucky for Button, but I don't care. I want Rubinho to win all the way. Button just doesn't look like winner material. I don't know why. I just don't want him to win. Ow yeah, Fisichella ended 9th, just outside of the points; but MAJOR effort! Luca Badoer, that's more then you got to show. Another unlucky person was Liuzi. Great first F1 after 1,5 years, was sure of a top-8 finish, but all of a sudden the transmission caved in. Very unlucky. I think we'll be seeing a lot more from the chap in the following years. Same for Adrian Sutil. I really like the guy, calm, collected and modest. I would like to see him drive for Ferrari in a couple years. Hope it just doesn't go to his head. If he stays, both feet on the ground... good guy. Vettel and Webber ruined their chances to win the championship, so for the final races it's between : Barrichello and Button. Aching to see how this unfolds. Next race: Singapore (Night) 27 September.

Bad News & Good News

Ok, bad news first. Remember how I started playing Texas Hold'Em again on FB and I had set a goal to reach 500k by next week. Well bad news, I lost a sh*tload of cash yesterday. I'm down to 21,184 chips. Bummer eh! But to get to that target, I've decided to change strategy: Play in 100/200 blind rooms, no limit, with buy-in of 2,000; and try and play on surefire hands. Think about it :

5 players in 1 room, go 2,000 all-in: 5*2,000 = 10,000 or 8,000 profit in 1 hand. Meaning I can play 4 hands all in, lose them, win 1 and still be breakeven. It's slow, but you know what they say:
"Slow and Steady wins the race". Also once I reach 100k, I can start thinking again about playing in rooms with 500/1k blinds (or maybe 200/400). Next update about this, tomorrow.

Then, the good news. F1 today :) 14.00 @ Monza. Can't wait. Let's all take a minute of silence and hope and pray, nothing bad happens to a ferrari in that first corner. I'm sure crashes will be inevitable, but please NO FERRARI !!

Anyways, watch it or squash it! (I just came up with that, don't know why, don't care really; just do it)

Watched Poker After Dark Yesterday

So yesterday, 11 September, at like 1am, I was in the living room watching TV and eating Pizza. (Yeah, I know, I shouldn't be eating at that time, but I was hungry and poker was on). So anyways, I was going through the channels when I saw "Poker After Dark" on VT4. It was the last couple of hands as only 3 guys were playing. 1 really annoying dude, an ugly bloke and a guy called Sheik. It was a CRAZY couple of hands, which got me thinking about playing poker again. The last hand they played was AWESOME. So the Sheik dude has Ace and 4, while annoying guy is holding a King and an 8. The annoying boy, having the least chips, decides to show off and puts in about 8200 chips. As the camera shifts to Sheiky, he doesn't even look at his cards and goes ALL IN, with about 35000 chips. The other guy is astonished and did not know what hit him... After his annoying comments and stuff he finally goes all in as well, showing down both cards. Now, here's the flop, turn and river in chronological order:

Flop: King, 6, 2 (By this time, mr. annoying had 70% chance of winning the hand)
River: 5 (By now his odds had gone up to 90% and he was fairly sure of a win)
Turn: Ace ... BOOOYAH the Sheikman wins !! In Mr. Annoyo's face !! HAHA
I was laughing my buttocks off ! It was AWESOME ! Seriously, his facial expression was priceless !
Anyways, that got me back on Poker. Installed Texas Hold'em On facebook again and starting playing my first couple of hands. To date, I'm up to 87,528. Now let's make a goal. I want to get up to 500K by next week:

Actual Cash : 87,528
Goal : 500,000 (next week friday 18 september 09)

I'll keep you up to date on my winnings (or losses :( )
Wish me luck !

F1 Qualifying

Racestart-lineup is in and posted below. Interesting qualifying. 2 force india's in Q3 was a big surprise! Great drive by Sutil. Hamilton just grabbed the pole from him in the last couple of seconds. DAMN! Oh well, we'll see what happens during the race. Raikkonen was not looking that fast in Q1 and Q2, but managed to position up 3rd, clean side of the track. Both Kimi and Lewis have KERS, so I think the first lap will be LEGEN ... wait for it ... DARY ! (Yeah, I know, I've seen too much "How I Met Your Mother") Anyways, really looking forward to the race tomorrow, let's hope Mr. Fisichella gets up in the top 8; his qualifying was better than Badoer, so that's a relief. Here's tomorrow's line-up:

1. Hamilton (Mclaren)
2. Sutil (Force India)
3. Raikkonen (Ferrari)
4. Kovalainen (Mclaren)
